About Us: History & Influences

Whilst studying 'A' level Art and 'A' Level Craft & Design at the Stoke-on-Trent 6th Form I was introduced to the Gladstone Pottery Museum. I spent much of my spare time practising my throwing techniques on the Potters Wheel whilst being surrounded by the history of the pottery making in Staffordshire in particular early Staffordshire Slipware Techniques that were being reporduced in the Gladstone workshops.

During my later college years at the Chesterfield College of Art and Design I got more heavily involved in the use of Stoneware Clay and the different firing processes including Saltglaze Firing.

I currently work in both Stoneware for my domestic ranges and Red Earthenware for my gardenware pieces.
